with my video iPod, when i have it off for a while, then go to turn it on, it will sometimes not tur

with my video iPod, when i have it off for a while (with the hold switch on a lot of the time), then go to turn it on, it will sometimes not turn on when i press the play/pause button. when i press the menu button, a lot of the time it will turn on. then rarely, i will have to hold in the menu button to boot it up. what's going on here?

the way to solve the question :
Try resetting it. Hold the Menu and center button down at the same time. Wait for the Apple logo to appear. Then release the buttons, and let it reset. it usually takes about a minute. When it is left off in the paused position. They tend to lock up. This will reset it without losing anything.
